Why NHBRC registration matters
Under the Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act, anyone building a new home in South Africa must be registered with the NHBRC, and each new home must be enrolled with the NHBRC before construction starts. Enrolment gives the homeowner structural warranty protection.
Banks also require NHBRC enrolment before they'll grant a building loan. Plexi Renovations is NHBRC registered.
Building in an estate
Most Pretoria East and Midrand estates have their own architectural guidelines, approval process, building deposit and contractor rules. We factor these into the programme and the quote from day one.
How a new build runs
Every build follows the same clear stages, and you'll know where we are at each one:
- Plans approved by the municipality (and estate, if applicable)
- Site handover, setting out and foundations
- Slab, brickwork to roof height, lintels and ring beams
- Roof, windows and doors: the house is closed
- First-fix plumbing and electrical, plaster and ceilings
- Tiling, carpentry, second-fix, painting and finishes
- Inspections, certificates, snag list and handover

Are you NHBRC registered?
Yes. Plexi Renovations is registered with the NHBRC, and new homes we build are enrolled with the NHBRC before construction starts, as the law requires.
Do you work from my architect's plans?
Yes. Send us your approved or draft plans and we'll price from them. If you don't have plans yet, we can point you in the right direction.
Do you build outside Pretoria East?
Our main areas are Pretoria East, Centurion, Midstream and Midrand. Contact us about your site and we'll let you know.
